Julia Reid

Julia was ordained in 2022 and joins the Cumbria Circuit from the North Yorkshire Dales Circuit, where she had pastoral charge of the Swaledale section of churches. Prior to entering ministry Julia served in many roles in churches and circuits within the Scotland District. She also brought up her three (now adult) children and had a successful career, mainly in the Insurance and Finance sectors. Since 2024 Julia also serves as a Director of the Methodist Insurance Company, supporting their mission to serve the Methodist Church and its people, ultimately by providing grants to the Methodist Connexion and individual churches.
At the centre of Juliaʼs calling is a passion for encouraging congregations to evangelise…believing there is a great need for people to encounter the God who loves them unconditionally and who will transform the world through that love. This, she believes, is what Methodism was raised up for and what makes it relevant today.
