Wendy Thornton

I am Wendy Thornton and work in the Southernmost part of our new Circuit, in the Kirkby Lonsdale (Lunesdale) Mission Community. Serving Kendal Circuit since 2014, I work across eight village churches as both Ordained Methodist Presbyter and Team Vicar, a role which began in 2017. My appointment is jointly funded by the Anglican and Methodist church, and I live in the Anglican Vicarage. We have one Methodist Church in Kirkby Lonsdale, a shared Anglican/Methodist congregation at Barbon with Cowan Bridge and the
rest are Anglican. Our Local Covenant includes the Catholic church and Quaker meeting. We work as a team here including Lol Wood our Family Project Leader, Richard Snow (Rector), Anne Pettifor (SSM & Rural Dean), and Becca Gilbert (Pioneer
Minister), who has been working with us this past year. As churches we seek to serve our community and commit to sharing and
developing ministries, resources and buildings for the benefit of all.
I have a particular interest in story-telling and love making music with others when I get the chance! I am married to Duncan and have four children and seven wonderful grandchildren.
