Cumbria Methodist Circuit has asked 2 questions:
What is it about Methodism that brings you joy?
What is the yearning of your heart for the Cumbria circuit?
The answers to these questions have been collated into two mind maps.
Groups across Cumbria have gathered around a campfire,
and shared their joys in the present
and their hopes for the future;
these conversations have helped develop the Vision poster above.
Existing circuit strategies from across Cumbria
have been compiled into a Strategy statement,
along with the Cumbria Circuit structure as shared at synod.
The Methodist Church offers the
Methodist Way of Life to our ecumenical relationships in Cumbria.
This is mapped to the Cumbria God For All strategy.
Why are we joining as one circuit?
To centralise admin, and enable local mission and ministry.
Values are our guiding principles,
the foundations to build on for the Cumbria circuit.
Groups of ministers, lay and ordained,
met to talk about what was important to us
in the way we treat each other, what behaviours we value.
While we included grace, joy, freedom, listening, connected...
we also spoke about failure,
which can be an opportunity to learn and be forgiven,
if we choose not to respond with judgement.
Feedback on the poster, and this page, are welcome,
